Before ordering

A weight harness is an alternative to a traditional weight belt, and it's worth thinking through how it would fit into your kit. Check the product page for weight capacity, pocket layout, sizing and adjustment range, and whether weights are included. Then compare that with how much weight you actually dive with and what you wear it over. If you already use a BCD with integrated weight pockets, consider whether a harness replaces some of that weight or simply moves it. Also check whether it's compatible with the BCD or backplate you already own. Getting the sizing right matters: a harness that's adjusted for your body and exposure protection is one you'll forget you're wearing. Confirm current pricing and availability before ordering.

FGSS take: Where your weight sits affects both comfort and trim, and some divers simply prefer carrying it on a harness instead of a belt around the waist. If that sounds like you, confirm the capacity and sizing on the listing, fit it carefully, and practice the release until it's second nature.
